Free: your handwriting stays on your device

The strokes you draw are held in your browser and turned into a font by your browser. They are not uploaded, and there is no copy of them here. Clear your browser storage and they are gone, including from us, because we never had them.

One thing changes that, and it is your decision. Publishing a share link uploads the finished font file and the sentence you typed, so that the person you send it to can see it.

Paid: your letters are kept, so they follow you

Buying uploads your finished font files, and the strokes you drew them from, so that both are there when you sign in on another device. Without the strokes we could hand you the font you had at the moment you paid and nothing you wrote afterwards.

They are stored privately and reached only by the address that bought the font. Nobody else can ask for them, and nothing on the page they arrive at is public.

You can have them deleted whenever you like, by writing to us. Deleting them leaves the font files you paid for exactly where they are.

What we keep, if you buy

Your email address, what you bought, and Stripe's reference for the payment. That is the whole record.

Sign-in links are never stored as you receive them, and whatever is stored is deleted the moment you use the link or it runs out.

Signing out saves one date against your email address. We keep no list of your devices, because signing them all out only needs that date.

What we count

Eight things of our own, so we know which parts of this people get stuck on: a first stroke, a finished set, a download, a published link, a saved image, saved ink, the install page being opened, and a checkout being started. Each one is a name and a time, nothing else.

Vercel, who run the site, also count page views for us. That is the page you were on, roughly where in the world you were, and what kind of device and browser you used. We do not see your address and neither of these uses a cookie.

No email address, no session recording, and nothing that identifies you. None of it touches what you wrote.

Who else sees anything

Stripe takes the payment and sends the receipt, so your card details go to Stripe and never come here. Resend sends the sign-in email, so it sees your email address. Vercel runs the site, holds a buyer's font files and letters, and counts page views. Neon runs the database.

Nothing about you is sold to anyone, and there is no advertising anywhere in this product.

How long things are kept

Your purchase, your font files and your letters are kept for as long as your email address is on file, because losing them is the same as losing what you paid for. Unused sign-in links last an hour. Counts are not tied to you, so there is nothing in them to delete.

Asking for your data, or its removal

Write and ask. You can have a copy of everything held against your email address, or have it deleted. Deleting it removes your access to the files you bought, which is worth knowing before you ask.
