Your Handwriting

Privacy

This says what happens to your handwriting, what is kept, and who else sees any of it. It is written to be read, and it describes what the code does rather than what a template would say.

Your handwriting stays on your device

The strokes you draw are held in your browser and turned into a font by your browser. They are not uploaded, and there is no copy of them here. Clear your browser storage and they are gone, including from us, because we never had them.

Two things change that, and both are your decision. Publishing a share link uploads the finished font file and the sentence you typed, so that the person you send it to can see it. Buying the paid tier uploads your finished font files so you can download them again from another device. In both cases what leaves is the font, not the strokes it was drawn from.

What is stored, if you buy

Your email address, which set of files you own, the Stripe identifiers for the payment, and the times you were granted access, sent a sign-in link and last signed in. That is the whole record.

Sign-in links are stored as a hash and the row is deleted the moment the link is used or expires. A copy of this database is a list of unused links, not a history of when anybody signed in.

What is counted

Eight things, and none of them are attached to a person: a first stroke, a finished set, a download, a published link, a saved image, saved ink, the install page being opened, and a checkout being started. Each is a name and a timestamp.

There is no cookie for this, no identifier, no address, and no session recording. The endpoint that receives these accepts a name from a fixed list and throws away everything else about the request.

Who else is involved

Stripe takes the payment and sends the receipt. Card details go to Stripe and never come here. Resend delivers the sign-in email, so it handles your address. Vercel runs the site and stores the font files. Neon runs the database.

Nobody is sold anything, and there is no advertising network anywhere in this product.

How long things are kept

Your purchase record and your font files are kept while you have an account, because losing them is the same as losing what you paid for. Unused sign-in links last an hour. Counts are aggregate and are not tied to you, so there is nothing in them to delete.

Asking for your data, or its removal

Write and ask. You can have a copy of everything held against your address, or have it deleted. Deleting it removes your access to the files you bought, which is worth knowing before you ask.
